To comment on this blog so that Doug can see what you think, I believe that you need a google sign-in/email account with google+. If you have a sign-in, you can also 'subscribe' (at bottom of blog) which I think will automatically send you an email when something is posted, maybe...
If that does not work, sign up with Blogger.com. You can add any blog onto a dashboard list.
